Mansfield man jailed for string of violent offences

A Mansfield man has been locked up for more than six months after a string of violent offences.

William Richardson assaulted two men at Bulwell train station and hurled threats and abuse towards members of the public, on September 5.

He assaulted a police constable and damaged an offical book, in Mansfield police station, on May 31.

At the time he was on a suspended sentence which was imposed in August for damaging a car and assaulting a police officer in Mansfield Woodhouse, in July, carrying a hammer on Sandy Lane, on May 4, and sending threatening messages, in February.

Richardson, 31, of Terrace Road, pleaded guilty to all the offences at Nottingham Magistrates Court, on September 15.

He was jailed for 44 weeks for the two new offences and the suspended sentence of 14 weeks was activated in full, to run consecutively.

He was ordered to pay £300 in court charges and compensation.
