Metal thieves target gardens in Sleaford area

Police have received reports of a number of metal items stolen from outside properties in villages around Sleaford.

Sleaford police said: “We have had a series of shed burglaries in the rural area at farms and small holdings, please ensure items of value are locked away.”

This included a series of thefts from allotment and garden sheds in Digby, the theft of a lawnmower from Howell and an attempted burglary at Kirkby Green.

Police say three galvanised watering cans and one Dolly tub were stolen from the rear yard of a property on High Street, Metheringham,

The incident happened some time between 10pm on Friday (April 29) and 7am the next morning.

Another watering can and a metal planter were reported stolen from a garden on Fen Lane, Dunston overnight Friday/Saturday.
