Motorist faces jury trial after fatal crash near Alford

A motorist accused of causing a fatal collision near Alford, in which a cyclist died, is to face trial in front of a jury next year.

Dean Holderness pleaded not guilty at Lincoln Crown Court to causing the death by dangerous driving of Stuart Lees on the A1104 at Snape Hill near Alford on March 23 last year.

Holderness, 35, of Marston Crescent, New Lodge, Barnsley, was granted bail by Judge John Pini QC to appear back before the Crown Court for a four day trial due to commence on June 20, 2022.
