New Lincolnshire Police and Crime Panel chairman appointed

An independent member of Lincolnshire Police and Crime Panel has been elected chairman at its September meeting.

Norman Norris, who has been Interim Chairman since June, said of his appointment: “I am delighted to have been elected to the position of Chairman of the Panel for Lincolnshire at what is an important time for Policing in Lincolnshire. I will lead the Panel and ensure we are robust in our scrutiny of the Commissioner as we support him in making Lincolnshire a safer place to live, work and visit.”

Councillor Paul Przyszlak who is a member of the Panel on behalf of South Holland District Council, was elected Vice Chairman.

As well as the election of Chairman and Vice-Chairman, the Committee received an update on the work of the Task Group, which is looking into the event surrounding the suspension of the Temporary Chief Constable, Neil Rhodes.

Panel Members also discussed with the Police and Crime Commissioner, who attending the meeting, his volunteer objectives and aspirations around increasing the number of volunteers supporting the regular police.
