North Somercotes man, 35, banned for drug-driving offence

A North Somercotes man has been disqualified from driving after pleading guilty to getting behind the wheel with cocaine in his system.

Mesut Unek, 35, of South Road, drove a motor vehicle in Grimsby on March 22 with 32 micrograms of cocaine per litre of blood in his system.

He also had 200 micrograms of benzoylecgonine per litre of blood at the time.

Unek pleaded guilty to both charges at Grimsby Magistrates’ Court on September 4.

He was banned from driving for 12 months, and fined £200. He must also pay £106 in court costs and charges.

The defendant’s guilty pleas were taken into account by the court when imposing sentence.
