Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was seen pointing a BB gun at people in the centre of Boston.

The incident happened at 7.59pm on August 9 outside Boston Library on Market Place, although Lincolnshire Police have only just released details.

No one was hurt. Police say the man was wearing a red bandanna over his face.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We are appealing for witnesses to an incident outside Boston Library, County Hall, Market Place, Boston.

“At around 7.59pm on August 9 we received a report that a man wearing a black hat, black jacket and red bandanna over his face was pointing a BB type gun at members of the public. No one was injured.

“We would like to speak to anyone who may have seen this man or can help us with our investigation.”

A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and released under investigation.
