Police appeal to find person who helped following incident in Sleaford car park

Police are seeking a member of the public who helped officers after an incident in Sleaford town centre on Friday afternoon.

The alleged altercation happened at around 2.20pm in Money’s Yard car park during which, police say ‘persons sustained injuries that are not believed to be life threatening’.

Reports on social media suggested it had been a stabbing, but this has not been confirmed by police.

Police are continuing enquiries and after the incident a Crime Scene Investigation van and patrol car stayed at the scene for several hours with disabled spaces behind Boots cordoned off.

A police spokesman said: “During this incident a member of the public assisted us in Sleaford Medical Group car park. We would ask this member of the public to contact Sergeant Rachel Wells at Sleaford Police Station.

“A number of members of the public assisted with this incident and we would like to extend our thanks to them.”

Staff and customers took refuge in nearby shops and a cafe until the incident had ended then went out to help afterwards.
