Have you seen the 53-year-old? He may be travelling on public transport or on foot.

He is white with short grey hair and he has scars on his face. He is slim, around 5ft 8ins tall and was last seen wearing jeans, a white t-shirt and a jacket, and trainers.

Inspector Andy Knight, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Mr Holmes’ relatives are understandably very worried. He does not have a phone and we don’t think he has much money on him.

“We are trawling CCTV footage as well as linking in with the bus and train companies in the area.

“We also know Mr Holmes has a fondness for the East Coast, specifically Skegness, Scarborough and Bridlington, so are extending our search in that direction.

“Have you seen Kevin? You would likely remember him if you did as he has a tattoo of a bird on his neck, a red rose tattoo on his right hand and names tattooed onto his left hand.

“If you have any information about his whereabouts please call us on 101, or phone Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
