Police hunt '˜preying young man who stole purse from elderly Skegness woman

Police are looking for a young man after an elderly woman had her purse stolen in Skegness.

At around midday on Thursday February 16 a woman in her late 70s was walking along Lyndhurst Avenue near to the junction of Albany Road when a man reached into her shopping trolley and took her purse from the trolley.

The suspect is described as male in his late teens to early 20s wearing a grey jacket, blue jeans with a black beanie hat.

PC Robert Sim, the Investigating Officer, said: “This is a terrible crime that has shaken the victim and caused her unnecessary distress. Preying on elderly people is such a low thing to do, any help to identify this offender would be great.”

Anyone who was in the area of Lyndhurst Avenue at around midday on Thursday February 16, or who has information that will help police is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 143 of 16 Feb.
