Police uncover 3,000 cannabis plants being grown in disused Boston Market Place building

Routine police patrols in Boston town centre have lead to the discovery of a cannabis farm hidden away in a historic building.

Around 3,000 plants believed to be cannabis have been found across four floors of the vacant Market Place property.

The former shop building also includes the remains of the old Scala Theatre, which dates back to 1913.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “Officers on regular patrols made the discovery, on Market Place, at around 12.30am on November 1.

“Beds and a living area were also located within the shop.

“A scene guard remains in place. No arrests have been made.”

They added: “Our investigation is continuing, and we are now keen to hear from anyone who may have information which could help us with our enquiries.”
