Lisa Garrod of James Avenue, Skegness admitted assaulting Lorna Smith by beating when she appeared before magistrates in Boston.

Prosecuting, Jim Clare said police were called to a domestic incident at Garrod's home on January 17, where they found Garrod and her partner Lorna Smith, who had a bloody nose, having an argument in the kitchen.

He said they saw Garrod shouting at Ms Smith and pointing a finger at her and then she lunged forward and hit Ms Smith in the face.

Mr Clare said police had to restrain Garrod and she was arrested and taken to Skegness Police Station where she admitted the assault.

Mitigating, Beris Brickles said Garrod was in a same sex relationship with the complainant but they did not live under the same roof.

He said there had been a lot of issues regarding her son's contact with his father, her former husband, and she accepted she had flipped and slapped Ms Smith once in the face.

He said the case would not have come to court but that it had been an assault in a domestic situation.

Garrod was fined £40 and ordered to pay £119 in court costs and charges.
