SCAM WARNING: Council says email on council tax refund should not be clicked

A spokesperson for the council said they had been made aware of a scam email relating to Council Tax refunds.

They said anyone who receives the email, which says it is from Gov.UK, should not click on it.

“If our Council Tax team need to contact you, they will write to you with your unique council tax number,” the spokesperson said.

Lincolnshire Police have previously highlighted the issue of crooks using the coronavirus crisis to exploit people through scams online.
