A Lincolnshire Police spokesman stated the woman has been arrested on suspicion of abuse of a position of trust at the care home in Anwick. “This relates to allegation of sexual activity with a girl aged between 13 and 17.”

He said: “This is a non-recent incident which is believed to have happened at Doulton Lodge.”

The woman was also arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class A drug.

She has been released on bail while officers investigate further, he said.

The care home is believed to have been operating under the name of Doulton Lodge, which was an independent hospital up until 2013 caring for adults whose rights were restricted under the Mental Health Act, due to learning disabilities, mental health conditions, physical disabilities and substance misuse.

It was later renamed as Soteria House in 2014 and became a residential care home for teenager. There was also an independent special school for up to 17 young people aged 11-18 on site. Both closed down last April/May, after inspections by Ofsted raised safeguarding issues and suspended the home’s registration, rating it ‘inadequate’. The home’s owners immediately opted to close it and the school voluntarily, and liquidate the business.
