Anthony Machin, 48, of Witham Road, admitted breaking the order when he appeared at Skegness Magistrates Court last Tuesday.

Mark Salt, prosecuting, said the order, preventing Machin from going within 100 metres of Tor O Moor Road in Woodhall Spa, was imposed at Lincoln Family Court on October 5.

He added the following day, Machin went to a property to get mail from a bin outside the house.

Mr Salt said that Machin’s former partner was not at home at the time.

Mitigating, Terry Boston said Machin had not had time to divert post to his new address.

He added Machin had been told by a postman mail that mail had been delivered to the previous address.

Mr Boston added: “He knew his partner was not there but he thought there might be mail there for his work.”

Magistrates fined Machin £100 and also ordered him to pay £285 in costs and charges.
