Fifteen-year-old girl, Emma Harley from Ruskington was walking past the Spar shop on Rectory Road at about 8.30pm to visit a friend when she noticed a man in a dark grey Honda Civic trying to attract her attention and get her to come over to him.

She refused to go over and caught up with her friend and carried on walking home. She said they then saw the car again.

Emma described the male driver as in his mid 30s, of slim build, lightly tanned skin and had spikey short hair.

The girl added: “We met a group of people to walk us home from there, to then find out this man we had described had also been following one of the girls we were with.”

The teenager said: “It’s a scary world out there and I was lucky enough to have my friend just in front of me. Not only for girls, but boys as well.”

Emma posted the warning on Facebook, which has generated over 130 comments, and reported the incident to police. Another Ruskington resident then reported a teenage boy had been followed by possibly the same car on Leasingham Lane in the village.

Emma’s relieved mum, Debbie Bowring said: “She’s a very sensible girl who handled the situation well. Her Facebook comment appears to have gone viral locally as there seems to be a pattern happening with similar sightings in Sleaford and now Ruskington.”
