Teenager denies manslaughter over death of Gediminas Vaitkus

A teenager accused of killing a man during an incident in Boston is to face trial next year.

Hikmet Maez, 19, of Spilsby Road, Boston, today (Thurs) pleaded not guilty to the manslaughter of 43 year old Gediminas Vaitkus when he appeared before Lincoln Crown Court by video link.

Mr Vaitkus suffered serious head injuries as a result of an incident on Red Lion Street, Boston, on 28 July.

He was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, but died from his injuries on 2 August.

Judge John Pini QC adjourned the hearing for a trial due to start on 25 January.

An application for bail was refused and Maez was remanded in custody to await his trial.
