Tier 4 rules mean police station closures in Lincolnshire

With Lincolnshire now in Tier Four, with immediate effect and until further notice, the county’s police force is closing all but four of its police station front desks (Town Enquiry Offices) with the exceptions being Lincoln South Park, Boston, Grantham, and Skegness.

All other stations will all stay fully operational but with the front counter service closed to the public. For the four stations with front desks remaining open, you can check opening times here: www.lincs.police.uk/contact/police-stations

The force says the decision has been taken with concern for the safety of the public and staff while making sure they continue to deliver a service in the most effective way. Tier 4 means that no one should leave their homes unless there is a legitimate reason for doing so. By closing front desks Lincolnshire Police believes they are helping to reduce unnecessary journeys and supporting government efforts to save lives by reducing the spread of the virus.

With four stations open, it means that there is an opportunity to attend if you absolutely need to.

The force states: “By making these closures, we are able to minimise the risk to the public and our staff by reducing communal spaces. You can still call us at any time on 101 (or 999 in an emergency) but please do check our website as your query might be answered by the information provided there.

“Please continue to follow the Government guidance. Stay home, stay safe.”
