Two arrested after early morning theft from properties in Skegness
Two men have been arrested by Lincolnshire Police in connection with a reported theft in Skegness in the early hours of the morning.
Officers were alerted to reports of suspicious activity involving a white van on Burlington Road between 11.21pm on Wednesday, January 14 and 4.18am today (Thursday, January 15).
Police say members of the public raised the alarm after seeing the vehicle acting unusually in the residential area.
The van was located in Leverton later in the morning and police arrested two men, aged 28 and 51, on suspicion of being equipped for theft. Both remain in custody while enquiries continue.
Officers have urged local residents in the Burlington Road area to check sheds, cars and outbuildings for signs of disturbance and to contact Lincolnshire Police with any information that could assist the investigation.
This incident comes amid a broader focus on theft and shoplifting in Skegness, where policing teams have been actively targeting theft offences in recent months. Several shop theft cases have resulted in charges and court appearances in recent weeks, with neighbourhood officers stressing the importance of community cooperation in tackling crime.
Neighbourhood policing teams continue to patrol the area and advise residents and visitors alike to remain vigilant, secure their property and report any suspicious behaviour.
Anyone with information that can assist with the investigations is asked to contact DS Rhys Cordy [email protected], quoting incident 471 of 14 January 2026 in the subject line.
