Update: Motorcyclist seriously injured after A16 collision near Swaby

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a collision with a car on Friday afternoon (June 19).

Police confirmed today (Monday) that the incident involved a motorbike and a Renault Mégane on the A16 London Road, Swaby at 2.22pm on Friday.

A spokesman said: "The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital serious injuries not believed to be life threatening."

A section of the A16 was closed for several hours and diversions were in place while the emergency services dealt with the incident.

Anyone who witnessed the collision should call Lincolnshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 194 of June 19.

The incident came just ten days after another motorcyclist was tragically killed on the same stretch of road, following a collision with an ambulance.
