UPDATE: Second man in custody after alleged robbery in Newmarket

Police officers investigating an alleged robbery in Newmarket, Louth, have this morning (Thursday) charged a second man.

Steven Derek Lea, 40, of no fixed abode, was charged with attempted robbery and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Both suspects are now remanded in custody.

As reported last week, police also wish to hear from anyone who may have seen a red Fiat Punto (reg: MJ54 RJV) between 9am and midday on Sunday, May 31.

Police believe the car headed towards the Upgate area after it left the store.
