Vandals cause more damage at Louth beauty spot

Hundreds of people are responsibly enjoying the delights of ‘Lockdown April’ by walking and running in Hubbard’s Hills in Louth, but unfortunately the beauty spot has once again been targeted by vandals over the last couple of weeks.

The Hubbard’s Hills Trust chairman, Andrew Leonard, told the Leader: “Sadly, not everyone is taking care of the environment this beautiful spring. Yet again the vandals are leaving their calling card.

“A previously partially-damaged panel of fencing with safety tape has now gone from the middle bridge, and the concrete post it was attached to is now loose. And the panel is nowhere to be seen.”

Andrew continued: “More money has now got to be wasted carrying out even more repairs. We want everyone to enjoy the Hills, but a few are spoiling it for the many.”

Whilst the lockdown continues, the Trust is asking everyone to take home their rubbish and for dog walkers to clear up after their pets.

Andrew added: “Recently, there have been families with picnics that do not come under the rules of lockdown.

Police are going to be looking out for these blatant rule breakers.”

• If you witness any vandalism taking place at Hubbard’s Hills, or elsewhere, report it Lincolnshire Police on 101.
