Woman admits attempted murder after incident in village located between Boston and Skegness in which two children were stabbed
A woman arrested in connection with an incident in a village between Boston and Skegness in which two children were stabbed has admitted trying to murder them.
Ann Marie McEvoy, 45, formerly of Church Walk, Colchester, pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted murder when she appeared at Lincoln Crown Court on Thursday (July 16).
Judge Simon Hirst adjourned sentencing on McEvoy – who is currently remanded into a secure hospital – for the preparation of updated medical and psychiatric reports.
She is due to be sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court on September 18.

Judge Hirst told McEvoy: “You have pleaded guilty of course to serious matters. I accept at the time you had significant mental health problems.”
“At this stage I am not giving any indication of what that sentence will be,” Judge Hirst added.
The court was told McEvoy was previously deemed unfit to stand trial and made the subject of a hospital order after a jury found she was responsible for stabbing the children.
The incident took place at a property in Friskney on November 30, 2022.
The children, who can not be named, were taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Leanne Summers, prosecuting, said the Crown Prosecution Service had decided to resume criminal proceedings against McEvoy after her condition improved in hospital and she was deemed fit enough to enter her pleas.
Mark Knowles, defending, said McEvoy was willing to enter her guilty pleas.
