Woman jailed after shop thefts and breaching order in Skegness
A 39-year-old woman has been jailed after being found guilty of multiple shop thefts and breaching a court order in Skegness, reports Lincolnshire Police.
Lauren Cooper, of no fixed address, was sentenced to 12 weeks in custody at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 16. She was also ordered to pay a £154 surcharge.

Police say Cooper was found guilty of three counts of shop theft, involving the theft of grocery items from Marks & Spencer and Home Bargains stores in Skegness.
Officers said the offences also breached the terms of a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO), which had been imposed by Lincolnshire Magistrates’ Court on February 4, 2025.
The order prohibited Cooper from entering all retail premises in the Skegness area, with the exception of two specified stores.
Skegness Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant Matt Neal said the case highlights the importance of enforcing such orders.
He said: “The concerns of our community are being heard and acted upon. Our continued, proactive monitoring of CBOs ensures that they have real impact - helping us prevent further harm, protect the public, and maintain safe, welcoming neighbourhoods.
“This ongoing vigilance compounds how seriously we take our role in tackling anti-social behaviour and supporting our communities.
“CBOs are designed not only to limit harmful behaviour but to also promote positive change. These measures help tackle the underlying causes of offending and support individuals to move away from harmful lifestyles.”
Lincolnshire Police said the enforcement of CBOs remains a key tool in tackling repeat offending and anti-social behaviour across the county.
