Anyone aged between 12 and 18 can enter a Takeover Challenge competition jointly run by Lincolnshire Police and Alan Hardwick, Police and Crime Commissioner for Lincolnshire.
The competition is part of Takeover Day, a national event led by Children’s Commissioner for England Anne Longfield OBE and designed to give children and young people the experience of being involved in local and national decision-making.
They also get the chance to understand how and why decisions are made and ways in which they can influence future actions.
A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: “The winner of Takeover Challenge will get the opportunity to spend the day with one of our high-ranking senior officers.
“To enter, simply submit your plan of what changes you would implement if you were Chief Constable using no more than 500 words.
“You must have the permission of a parent or guardian before entering and, if successful and you are at school, their approval will also be sought.”
Entries are to be marked “Takeover Day Competition” and sent to [email protected] before midnight on October 31.
