Cyclist killed on A1 is named

A CYCLIST killed in a crash with a lorry on the A1 near Blyth has been named.

Trent Valley Road Club has named the cyclist as Andrew Ridsdale from Epsom Cycling Club.

The 43-year-old was taking part in the Trent Valley 10-mile time trial when his bicycle collided with a heavy goods vehicle, around two miles south of Blyth on Saturday morning.

Notts Police’s crash investigation unit is appealing for witnesses.
