Dedication to one company

A NORTH Anston man is adjusting to the slower pace of life in his retirement after working for the same company all his life.

Peter Hughes retired from Pattinson Bros in Sheffield after 48 years of service as an engineer.

The grandfather joined the company as an apprentice straight from school and had various roles including first aider, press inspector and forklift truck driver.

The 63-year-old was given a watch and a £140 collection.

Peter, of Park Avenue, said of his retirement plans: “I’m really enjoying it. I’m going to do more gardening and certainly more cruising and holidays. I’ll also going to pop down and see the lads.”
