Defendant who committed racially aggravated attack was drunk and disorderly day before incident

Michael ‘Cabbage’ Patton, 28, of no fixed address, was convicted on February 22 and was sentenced on Friday, March 3, at Boston Magistrates Court.

The charges relate to the February 19-20, where Patton was found to be drunk and disorderly on Station Road, Kirton, before committing an assault on a person in a racially aggravated attack the next day.

He was arrested on the February 20.

Sergeant Matt Dickinson, of Boston Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We are determined to bring people to justice who continually cause anti-social behaviour problems around the Kirton area.

“This conviction is a positive step to tell anyone who causes issues in the area that we will put you in front of the courts.

“I want to thank the local residents in the area, who have worked with us to make sure that this person has been brought to justice.
“Please keep reporting any issues to us, and we will work with you to stop any anti-social behaviour in the area.”
