Derbyshire: High speed broadband now available to more homes and businesses

More than 6,000 homes and businesses in Derbyshire now have access to high speed broadband.

This is the latest development in the £27 million Derbyshire County Council project, Digital Derbyshire. The scheme is part of a government initiative which has resulted in more than 1 million homes and businesses now having broadband access nationwide.

Derbyshire County Council’s Coun Joan Dixon said: “Whether it’s for business, shopping, education or socialising, the internet plays such a huge part of daily life for many of us and that will only grow in the future.

“This investment will open up endless business and leisure opportunities.”
