Daniel Gerrard, 30, landed the devastating blow to the neck of Robert Hurdley – killing him almost instantly.

Dinnington Rugby Club member Mr Hurdley, 45, was in the Don John in Maltby, enjoying a drink with four friends after his son’s rugby match last October when Gerrard struck.

The fighter also knocked all four of Mr Hurdley’s friends to the floor with a flurry of punches.

Gerrard admitted manslaughter and is due to be sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court this morning (Wednesday).
