Faye Jones, of Waterside Grange Care Home, Redwall Close, blew out her candles on Wednesday 11th March.

She was surprised on the day by her daughter Cynthia, son-in-law Stephen, eldest grandaughter Emma, grandson-in-law Dale, great grandaughter Charlottle, youngest grandaughter Claire and Claire’s fiance Paul.

Faye received her Telegram from the Queen and also a vast array of flowers, cards and gifts.

Administrator, Vicki Newton, said: “We would like to wish this special lady a memorable 100th birthday and we feel privileged to be sharing it with her and her supportive family.”

Faye was born in 1915 and originated from Altofts, near Normanton, West Yorkshire.

In her later years she moved to Dinnington and Woodsetts until health issued meant she had to go into the care home.
