Dinnington students are all about acts of kindness

The lead on the project was Dana Abdulkarim, the school’s head of classroom practice & innovation, who delivered an assembly which engaged and encouraged students to reflect upon on recent events with an open mind.
Furthermore, Miss Abdulkarim created a video (http://bit.ly/1nSz715) which was very uplifting and created a positive attitude to being more tolerant to each other.

Joe Morley, the school’s communications officer, said: “To show our support in tackling extreme views and promoting tolerance, the school adopted the hashtag #Notinmyname
“This set the mood for our Random Act of Kindness Week.
“Random Act of Kindness Week is about stepping out of your comfort zone and attempting a new random act of kindness each day of the celebratory week which we called being a #DinnoRAKtivist.
“During the wyeek the school had such a positive and friendly atmosphere with plenty of smiles and lovely acts of kindness.
“The acts of kindness consisted of opening doors for others, smiling at every person you see, saying something positive and writing thank you notes.
“These small gestures made a huge impact on the atmosphere in the school.”
