Doctor praises fire crews

FIRE crews were called to a collision between an HGV and a van on the A60 early on Wednesday morning.

Crews from Worksop and Staveley attended the incident on the A60 near the junction of Hennymoor Lane at 6.29am on 31st October.

They removed the trapped van driver who was taken to hospital by ambualnce.

Police crews were also called to the scene and closed the road while the Highways Agency attended the diesel spillage.

Army doctor Leon Roberts was the emergency doctor on the scene and thanked the crews for their professionalism and working hard to clear the incident.

“The fire crews did a fabulous job,” he said.

“ It was very hard for them to access the van driver and they did a top job.”
