Members of the Bawtry Retail Association are supporting the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) Wear it. Beat it. campaign on Friday, February 5 to raise £1 million for lifesaving research.

All diners at the popular China Rose restaurant who wear something red on that day receive a complimentary glass of prosecco and China Rose will also donate £1 to the BHF.

The Tasting Note will also be getting involved by holding a red wine tasting session and a raffle for a magnum of Lanson champagne.

Other retailers showing their support include Yorkshire Caravans of Bawtry, Bawtry Gym, Bawtry Natural Health, Cheese Cave Deli, Bawtry Bar & Brasserie, Cherry Blossom Cakes, Gray Rooms, Bawtry Eye Academy, Crown Hotel, Co-Op, Robinsons and Six IT Services.

Cardiovascular disease is responsible for around 155,000 UK deaths each year – around one every three minutes.

Through the public’s generosity, the BHF will fund half a billion pounds of new research over the next five years which will be central to discovering vital treatments for people living with heart and circulatory conditions.

Rebecca Dickenson, chair of the Bawtry Retail Association said: “We wanted to get involved because we all know someone who has been affected by heart disease and we are hoping to raise as much money as we can for the BHF helping them to fund the research that is so urgently needed to fight heart disease.”

Since 2009 Wear it. Beat it. has raised over £6 million towards new cardiovascular science. Last year 23,000 people took part in Wear it. Beat it. The BHF is calling for even more of you to get involved to help us raise £1 million next year.
