Doncaster mums learn how to give children the best start

Nine mums from Doncaster have just graduated from a special programme meaning they now know more about giving their youngsters a healthy start to life.

The mums from Hexthorpe, Hyde Park, Intake and Balby, have just completed the HENRY course – which stands for Health Exercise Nutrition for the Really Young.

The free to join initiative is for parents or carers of children from birth to five years and gives them vital tips on healthy eating, lifestyle habits, enjoying life as a family, physical activity and parenting confidence.

All parents joining the programme, run in Doncaster by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Trust’s (RDaSH) Public Health Nurses, receive a free goody bag to help support them through the course. The course is also supported by Doncaster Council’s Children Centre staff, who help to support mums for the course.

Jayne Mundy, RDaSH nursery nurse said: “If you have a youngster aged between new born and five-years-old why not give our team a call and join one of our next courses. You will not only learn how to give your little one the best start in life, you’ll also make new friends.”
