It was agreed he should be thanked for his many years of help and support.

The work on refurbishing the multi-use games area is now complete and it is open and available for use.

The asset register has been updated with the new IT equipment and defibrillator. The total is now £79,955.

The annual inspection of the village amenities by councillors was arranged and, as the village football club had applied to renew its licence for a further two years, councillors Beaney and Fisher wished to know its intentions.

Club officers will be invited to meet council members before the next council meeting on Monday, September 26.

Their current licence will be extended to cover the extra period.

It was also noted that, as the spare land on the allotment field is no longer tenanted, and there had not been any response to the invitation to tender for grazing or mowing, the council must now assume responsibility for badger and mole activity.

East Lindsey District Council had advised that footway lights are not to be switched off until 2017.

There had been no communication regarding the two county council lights in the village.

The refurbishment and improvement to the recreation area, with additional equipment to encourage older children and young teens to take part in outdoor activity and exercise, was approved and applications are to be made for grant support to enable it to be activated.

The impact-absorbing surface under the current equipment needs to be renewed and it is hoped to include this in the package.

The licence presented by the village hall management committee regarding the defibrillator to be installed was agreed and signed. A fee of £20 will be due on September 1 each year as a contribution towards the cost of power used.

The clerk reported that vases had been upturned on graves in the cemetery as a result of increasing mole activity and it was agreed that a quote would be obtained with a view to controlling them.

The diocesan volunteer will be giving advice on the damaged part of the churchyard wall, which the parish council is responsible for as the churchyard is closed and no longer available for burial.

It was noted with appreciation the pretty summer flowers planted in containers at both entrances to the village.

These have been much admired and an expression of thanks was extended to the generous volunteers for giving their time, help and support.
