Double delight as town set for two switch-ons

Boston will be lighting up tomorrow with a double switch- on taking place.

Callum Johnson, Boston’s world light heavyeight contender and Commonweath gold medal winner will be hoping to land a knockout blow on the first lights switch-on in the Market Place at 6.30pm.

Then Peter Rabbit will be among the guests as the lights go on at 7.30pm at Pescod Square shopping centre.

And the volunteers of the Christmas in Boston community team have been busy getting ready to light up the town with festive sparkle.

The group has 500 flashing LED light wands to hand out to children on the switch-on night. There will be a Christmas Market organised by Boston Borough Council extending from the Market Place to Wide Bargate opening at noon, live entertainment in the Market Place from 12.15pm until the final act, Fusion, who strike up at 7.45pm and the fourth big Illuminate parade by arts organisation Transported at 5.30pm.

Santa will be in his grotto at the Boston Christmas event and children can see him for free and receive a free gift. There will also be a giant snowglobe at Oldrids in Pescod Square.
