During the early hours of 31st December 2013 a Vauxhall Zafira motor car activated a speed camera on the A1(NB) at Barrowby Thorns near Grantham.

The keeper of the vehicle, Mr Fletcher, responded to a Road Traffic Act notice sent to him claiming that the vehicle responsible was not his. He said that he and the car were at home in Ashby de la Zouch at the time of the activation where he was spending the Christmas period with his family and that his car had been cloned.
