The arrest came after officers on patrol spotted a white Transit van parked at the entrance with its rear doors open at Builders’ Merchant Co Ltd, on Scotter Road, at around 3.10am.
As the patrol approached, the vehicle was driven away and officers pursued.

The van left the road near High Street, East Butterwick, where the driver was detained and arrested.
A 50 year-old local man remains in custody, pending further enquiries.
