Driver has '˜significant injuries' from crash

A 43-year-old man from Donington is in hospital with 'significant injuries' after a crash involving a car and two vans on Thursday.

The crash happened on the A52 Bicker Road where a Ford Mondeo, Vauxhall Astra van and Renault van collided at about 4.40pm.

Paramedics treated the injured man, who was driving the Astra, before he was flown to Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham, in a serious but stable condition.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: “The casualty does have significant injuries and remains in hospital, while a 21-year-old local man driving the Renault was treated for less serious injuries.

“Meanwhile, a 31-year-old man from Billingborough who was driving the Mondeo had treatment for less serious injuries.”

Firefighters from Donington also helped at the scene to make the vehicles safe.
