Driving ban for nurse

A NURSE from Worksop’s Bassetlaw Hospital has been banned from driving after admitting drink-driving.

Lynn Banerjee, 35, from Southwell Road East in Rainworth, pleaded guilty to drink-driving through Retford on 30th March when she appeared before Worksop Magistrates Court.

The court heard how the community psychiatric nurse failed a Breathalyzer test after her BMW mounted the kerb and hit a bridge on Goosemoore Lane in Retford.

Banerjee’s defence said that she had been drinking the night before the crash and did not believe herself to be drunk the next morning but was ‘extremely remorseful’. She was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £475 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge.
