Drunk man glass smash

A WARSOP man who drunkenly smashed his girlfriends front room window has received a court fine.

Admitting the offence, Christopher Cheetham, 42, told police he had been drinking and smoking drugs and his memory of the events was hazy.

Cheetham, of Mount Crescent, had been sent away from Sally Fowler’s property by police earlier in the evening on Tuesday 6th September.

But prosecuting, Nathaniel Hartley said Cheetham returned in the early hours. Unable to get in, he smashed the window with a wooden ram.

Duty solicitor Tony Hatfield said Cheetham thought it was okay to gain entry by any means because he stayed there most of the time.

“It clearly wasn’t and he has pleaded guilty,” he said.

He was fined £75 and must also pay £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
