DVD shows youngsters the danger of car theft

‘My Secret Habit’, a DVD narrated by a former car thief, shows the dangers of ‘TWOCing’ - taking vehicles without the owner’s consent.

Aimed at teenagers, the DVD shows the full consequences of stealing a car and setting it on fire.

It reveals the impact on victims, the environment and the wider community and the difficulties faced by youngsters who have a criminal record.

Coun Peter Robinson, from Lincolnshire County Council, said: "This is a hard hitting, well produced DVD which I hope will strike the right note with its intended teenage audience."

The DVD, produced by Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue, has been on sale since Wednesday.
