The NHS Trust Development Authority (TDA) is supporting East Midlands Ambulance Trust (EMAS) with ongoing board development by confrming the appointment of Pauline Tagg as acting chairman for up to six months as this work continues.

EMAS chairman Jon Towler has resigned after two-and-a-half years serving in the role and the Trust wishes him well with his future plans.

Mrs Tagg said; “Jon has worked hard with the interests of frontline staff and services at his heart.”

“I’m pleased to be taking on the role of chairman, working with our dedicated staff to deliver improvements and give the very best clinical care to people in the East Midlands.”

A former nurse, Mrs Tagg was director of nursing at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust before joining the EMAS board in 2011 as a non-executive director.
