Residents in Ida Road may have been awoken just after 4am by the arrival of a local fire crew.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said the fire started in the engine compartment.

The emergency service tweeted: “Severe fire damage to engine compartment of car. Crews used 1 hose reel jet, 1 breathing apparatus and 1 thermal image camera to extinguish.

"Cause was electrical fault in engine compartment.”
