Boston-area neglect investigation: Lincolnshire County Council issues comment
Lincolnshire County Council has issued a comment on a neglect investigation being carried out near Boston.
On Wednesday (July 8), Lincolnshire Police attended a property in the area following ‘concerns for the welfare of children at the address’, a spokesman said.
Two children were taken to hospital for medical treatment, the force said.
Two adults – a woman and a man – were arrested on suspicion of neglect, and, later, bailed with conditions while the investigation continued, police added.

Earlier today (Monday, July 13), police said there had been no update in the case, with the children remaining in hospital.
The Standard approached Lincolnshire County Council for a comment, given its children service’s remit.
In a statement, Tara Jones, assistant director for children’s safeguarding, said: “We cannot share the details of individual cases. However, we can confirm that our children’s services team are aware of the children and have shared concerns with police colleagues.
“We are working with local partner agencies, including Lincolnshire Police, to ensure the children are safe.”
Police have asked members of the public to avoid speculation in the case.
Det Insp Claire Rimmer, who is leading the investigation, previously said: “ As part of our investigation we need to complete a significant number of inquiries. While these are happening, we have released the two people who were arrested on bail, with conditions.
“This is a complex investigation and I ask people not to speculate around the facts as it could lead to evidence being undermined and affect our investigation, which I know no-one would wish for.
“The most important people in this investigation are two children, who have a right to anonymity and the best care anyone can give.”
