UPDATE: Man arrested following 'welfare-related incident' near Boston
A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of affray following an incident near Boston.
Members of the public were asked to avoid the Parthian Avenue area of Wyberton yesterday afternoon (Monday, January 26) as a result of what police described as a ‘welfare-related incident’.
That evening, the force provided an update on the situation, saying the matter had come to a ‘safe conclusion’ and affected residents were now able to return to their homes.
“We thank everyone for their patience during this incident,” a spokesman said.

Today, a spokesman for the force said no charge had been placed against the arrested man and enquiries were ongoing.

Police are asking the public to avoid part of Wyberton, near Boston, this afternoon (Monday, January 26) while it deals with a ‘welfare-related incident’.
The appeal has been made in relation to a property in Parthian Avenue.
A short time ago, a spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said: “The area surrounding the building has been cordoned off and members of the public are being asked to avoid the area while we deal with the incident.
“As such, this may disrupt people’s usual access to and from Wyberton Primary School and people are being asked to use alternative routes.
“There is some access to Parthian Avenue and St Leodegar's Church, but you may be directed by our officers to take an alternative route.”
The spokesman adds that some residents may need assistance from the force to reach their properties, if it is safe to do so.
They said the incident is likely to cause congestion in the area, adding: “As such, members of the public are asked to park safely and considerately particularly at this time.”
