'Suspicious device' found at property in Boston to be analysed to 'identify its exact nature', police say
The ‘suspicious device’ that led to a number of Boston streets being barred to the public is to be analysed to ‘identify its exact nature’, police have said.
Yesterday (Thursday, March 26), a 100m cordon was put in place around the area of Taverner Road after the item was found at a property.
The situation was brought to a close with the help of an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit, allowing people to return to their homes.
Speaking today, Chief Superintendent Lee Pache said: “We are grateful to the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit for attending Boston yesterday to assess and then safely remove a suspicious device which will now be analysed to identify its exact nature.”
“Our investigation will continue at pace whilst we await the results of the testing,” he added.
