WATCH: Shocking near miss during Tour of Britain race in Skegness as woman steps into road seconds before riders speed past
Shocking footage captured during the Tour of Britain cycle race in Skegness shows a woman stepping into the road just moments before the cyclists speed past.
The incident happened yesterday (September 3) during the final stages of the Men’s race as the competitors sped towards the finish line in Grand Parade.
Dragging a black trolley behind her, the woman was at the pedestrian crossing in Lumley Road before she moved into the path of the oncoming road race.
Some spectators stood behind barriers on the opposite side shouted at her to “move” for fear of an impending accident.

The motorcycle camera operator beeped his horn as he rode past just moments later, followed immediately by the peloton of cyclists travelling at speed.
The woman can still be seen in the road pulling her trolley into the crowd as the cyclists speed past her.
Sharing the video with Lincolnshire World, the spectator, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “A few seconds later and that would have been a huge pile-up”.
Despite the near miss, Stage Two of the Tour of Britain Men’s Race, between Boston and Skegness went without a hitch. The event drew thousands of people to the towns and villages along the race route, with Lincolnshire’s history and stunning landscape being promoted and celebrated via the national TV coverage.
