Blooming great display planned at Caistor for Queen's 90th

Horticultural group Caistor in Bloom is planning an extra-special display in the town to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday.

Plans have been made to commemorate our Queen’s birthday celebrations in June with a vivid themed display of red, white and blue flowers throughout the Market Place and surrounding areas.

Additional features will include canopy planting that will have its own irrigation system around the Market Place.

And the group hopes a pastel theme in Fountain Street and Horse Market will compliment residents’ efforts.

Caistor entrance signs - which have now been relocated - will be planted with sustainable planting thanks to a resident’s offer of help.

This project will commence once the weather improves.

Wildflower Meadows are to be re-sown in April to create a natural habitat for 
wildlife.

The town’s Clean for the Queen event takes place this Saturday (March 5) from 1pm until 3pm.

Residents should meet at Caistor Multi Use Centre.

An ‘Open Gardens’ event will be held in the town on June 18 and 19.
