The incident was reported at about 4.30pm, according to Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service, on the High Dike.
Locals identified the fire to have occurred at the Mid UK Recycling premises at Copper Hill Industrial Estate, Barkston Heath.
Residents were warned to keep doors and windows closed, and avoid the area.
This is the third fire linked to the recycling facility within the last six months, the last time being on April 1 when the High Dike had to be closed overnight to allow emergency services to work at the scene. It was previously ablaze in October last year.
A cause of the fire has not yet been disclosed by fire investigators. However, industry bodies and fire services have repeatedly warned about the increasing number of fires involving waste and recycling. The Environmental Services Association has warned that battery-related fires, particularly those linked to improperly disposed lithium-ion batteries, are now occurring at “epidemic levels”.
